YOUTH FARM COMPLEX
The
Board is responsible to identify the vision and mission of the Mennonite
Youth Farm Complex, to delegate the implementation of the mission
through policy setting and hiring the Chief Executive Officer and
to ensure the necessary resources are available.
The
Board is responsible for all the facilities and services rendered
on the Youth Farm site.
There are five distinct and separate entities
that comprise this Complex.
1.
The Mennonite Nursing Home Inc. This facility provides levels 3
and 4 long term care to 68 residents. There are approximately 110
staff (including many part time) employed in this facility. The
funding comes from two sources; residents pay according to financial
ability, the local Health District provides an annual grant that
constitutes the major portion of the operating budget. The Nursing
Home Board has an affiliate agreement with the local Health Authority
that delineates the relationship between the two organizations.
Admission to the Nursing Home is determined by a Central Assessment
Committee established by the local Health Authority and is based
on highest need rating.
2.
Complex housing has two divisions:
- Pineview consists of an enriched housing complex with 32 units
for seniors. Funding comes from the rent paid by the residents.
Admission is determined by the Nursing Home Administration based
on policies established by the Board.
- 6 houses on campus that are rented to staff members.
3.
Country Gardens consists of two fourplexes for independent seniors.
Four units are rented at market value and four are subsidized housing
for low income seniors.
4.
The land of the Youth Farm is rented on a cash basis with proceeds,
after taxes, forwarded to the Mennonite Church Saskatchewan.
5.
The Campus is also home to the Youth Farm Bible Camp which is managed
by a separate Camping Board. The two boards collaborate in relation
to physical facilities.
