February 25thMC Sask hires Office & Finance Administrator and Faith Development Minister
Mennonite Church Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the hiring of Cynthia Kovaks as Office and Finance Administrator and Dalen Applegate as Faith Development Minister.
Cynthia is currently the Administrative Assistant at First Mennonite Church, Saskatoon and will begin with MC Sask on March 9, 2026.
Cynthia says: "I am Saskatoon born and bred. I sang and travelled with Youth for Christ , went to Providence College and Seminary in Manitoba where I sang and travelled across Canada with small group ensembles and to England with their mass choir. My early 40’s found me married with 2 step-sons. My husband, Ferencs, and I just celebrated our 18th year together. Much of my career was spent at the University of Saskatchewan. I’m very glad to have been employed at First Mennonite Church as their administrative assistant. As hard as it is to leave the people here I look forward to new responsibilities and meeting all of you."
Dalen is currently Youth Pastor at Lakeview Church and will assume his duties with MC Sask on July 6, 2026.
Dalen says: "I was raised in Lloydminster, AB/SK., but now I call Saskatoon home with my wife, Keira, and our dog, Reus. I have worked and served in youth ministry in Saskatchewan in various capacities for the past 10 years. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry from Briercrest College in 2020 and am working towards my Master of Arts in Peace and Justice through St. Stephen's University. In my free time, I enjoy a good book and a cup of coffee made at home, while sports like disc golf and hockey take up a lot of my time during their respective seasons!"
