Psalm 46 - Paraphrase
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when the phone rings in the middle of the night and our retirement plans drop 25%.
Let the media talk endlessly of how everything will fall apart.
Let the world leaders fight over N-95 masks forgetting who is friend and how together we live.
A message of hope and joy comes to those who call upon God as Saviour and Lord;
For God is near and dwells with them.
God dwells in those hearts and they will not be destroyed.
From the beginning of the day till its end we know that God is near and will not leave nor forsake.
The nations are in chaos, and their budgets and programs are being developed on the fly!
God’s voice is heard with might and volume as God’s children share love and kindness with their neighbours;
Melting hearts and opening minds.
